Hein KnapenHein Knapen (Bocholt, Belgium, 1961) graduated as a general physician in Leuven (B) and has worked for nine years as such in Turnhout. After a 19 month world tour he decided to change his life. For he short while he worked for Tools for Growth, then he started a job at a Dutch centre for asylum seekers, where they needed a physician. He has been working at that centre for more than 15 years now, and combines this work with practising aesthetic medicine, and running a bed-and-breakfast facility together with his partner. They live and have this B+B-facility in a building in a kind of Hunderwasser-style in Antwerp which is mainly used by sex workers (50 rooms). Hein Knapen has been chair of the HIV Society Flanders and board member of Sensoa. He is also member of the OutGames board. Hein Kanpen participated in one of the couch sessions at the Antwerp conference. |
