Lili Brouwer

Lili Brouwer is a Dutch lesbian, a union activist and a mother. She studied community work, personnel management and labour. Her career is closely related to the Dutch Trade Union Confederation FNV. After a position as district coordinator for the FNV youth organisation KWJ until 1990, she was secretary for the Catering Union of FNV Catering (1993).
Her positions included project manager for urban renewal and housing (2004) and mediation in neighborhoods. She also worked in the cultural sector and arts sector.

Since 1987 she is executive for ABVAKABO FNV (the largest union for workers in the public sector in the Netherlands). She is the president of FNV Vrouw (the women's group of FNV) since 2013 and involved in the foundation of the confederation-wide LGBT network FNV Roze (Pink FNV).
Lili Brouwer makes a stand for the elimination of gay discrimination in a active, clear and effective way in the world of labour. In the early nineties she performed research on collective agreements and proved that some agreements were only in the interests of heterosexuals and discriminated against gay people.

She participated in a panel on trade unions at the Antwerp conference.
