Phyll OpokuPhyllis Opoku-Gyimah was born in Islington, raised at the British countryside and then moved to London. A former volunteer for Black Lesbians in the UK (BLUK), she is the co-founder and executive director of UK Black Pride. She works in the fraud investigation services, where she is a diversity and equality manager, but her work as trade unionist within PCS (the UK union for Public and Commercial Services) and PCS Proud (voice for LGBTs) takes her all over the UK and beyond.

Phyll Opoku has always had a passion for organising events that empower and celebrate the diversity within the black community.
