Rudy De Leeuw


Rudy De LeeuwRudy De Leeuw (Ninove, August 5, 1953) graduated as commercial engineer at the Catholic University of Leuven. From 1974 to 1983 he was a teacher in economy and geometry at a secondary school, but he became involved in the Belgian trade union confederation ABVV / FGBT since 1983, first at the Training Institute.
From 1988 to 1991 he was economical advisor at the industrial department of ABVV, and member of the National Committee on Energy.
After a four-year period of being director management and finances of the ABVV, he became federal secretary.
In his current position, he is also involved in other institutions, among them as member of the executive board on macro-economic dialogue of the European Trade Union Confederation ETUC, as member of the Commission on trade union rights of the (worldwide) ITUC, and as trustee of the Belgian national bank.
